Mahayana Buddhism
In 2002 after spending six months infrequently meditating with an LGBT buddhist group (Bodhicharya) in Soho, London. I decided to take refuge with a Tibet buddhist lamma named Ringu Tulku Rinpoche at the friends meeting house in Euston, London. During this refuge I took Bodhistava vows (to attain enlightment for the benefit of all beings) which involved recitation, the lama taking some of my hair (highest offering you can make), being given the Tibetan name of ‘Pema’ (name meaning lotus); I also recieved a protection cord.
